Frequently Asked Questions

Anne’s Cans is here to assist you with all your sanitation questions and needs.

Who is Anne’s Cans?

Anne’s Cans is a forward-thinking waste company in the Southeast. We can provide any number of porta-potties, as well as VIP Restrooms, shower stalls and stand alone hand washing stations. Our service and maintenance of our products is done on time and to our high expectations.

How do I contact customer service?

Regular customer service hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. If you are a long-term customer, we will provide you with an emergency number. For all other customer service questions or issues, call us at 205-655-5546.

If you are a new customer, or are seeking a quote for your event or construction site, fill out the Get a Quote Form here. You can also email us at w.e.care@wiseenviro.com

A customer service representative can help you with securing a quote and rentals, paying invoices, reporting issues with a unit, including requesting unscheduled cleaning service if the tank(s) fill up sooner than expected or if the unit gets tipped over. We will dispatch a driver to come to the site to clean the unit or provide another unit.

How much does it cost to put a portable restroom on my site?
Less than you might think! One of the major factors you need to think about is the type and number of portable restrooms you will need. We can help you determine which type of unit you’ll need for your event. For luxury or VIP restroom trailers, you can expect to pay much more than a standard unit.

There is typically a minimum charge associated with the rental of a portable restroom. Regardless of whether a unit is needed for 4 hours or 4 weeks, you can be sure Anne’s Cans will give you top-notch sanitation service for your money.

Give some thought to your budget. There are a variety of factors that will determine the cost of your needs, but the two main points are the type of unit and the length of time you’ll need it for.

Another cost factor is distance. We don’t have a fuel charge, but we do price our services based on whether you are local or not. We can give you a cost before you decide.

We will also discuss service frequency, how many times the units will need servicing while you have them, and any other amenities and upgrades you may need.
Our customer service representatives will provide you with a detailed estimate and rate quote based on:

  • Number and type of units requested
  • Length of time you need the units
  • Distance to your location from our delivery location
Do you offer same-day deliver?

In some cases, Anne’s Cans can provide same day service for portable restrooms and portable hand washing sinks for emergencies and/or a small number of units. During peak seasons, we may not be able to provide same day service.

To ensure we can service you, it is best to make your reservation as far in advance as possible. At a minimum, it is best to place your order for portable restroom service at least 48 hours in advance.

For large special events or job sites, a week or more lead time is advisable. Large equipment like VIP Restroom and shower trailers are not available same day. We recommend booking restroom, sink or shower unit services 48 hours or more in advance.

For large orders, please give us 72 hours and in most cases, a week is needed to arrange a full-scale sanitation solution.

What length of time can I have portable restroom service for?
The amount of time people need our portable restrooms for can range from a single day to a long-term project. If your event or work site needs to service dozens of individuals in a short period of time, securing sanitation services would be extremely beneficial for your plumbing.

Keep in mind that the longer the service term, the better servicing prices you’ll receive. This is because a great deal of the cost on the part of Anne’s Cans  comes from transporting the units. Essentially, the longer you need our services, the more of a price cut you can receive.

Am I required to have a portable restroom on my construction site?

Most municipal building departments will require porta-potties on construction job sites. The number of units required depends on the number of construction workers on the job site. Many city ordinances specifically spell out the requirement of a portable toilet on a construction site and inspectors will require that a portable toilet is ordered and either placed on site or on its way before approving the inspection.

In addition, OSHA requires a portable toilet on a construction site under the Safety and Health Regulations for a Construction (1923.51 (c) (1), 1926.51 (c) (3), (I), (ii), (iii), (iv) ). For information regarding specific city or country ordinances contact an Anne’s Cans customer service rep.

It is recommended that there be at least 1 portable restroom per 10 workers through an 8-10 hour workday and that the unit be serviced and pumped weekly or biweekly.

By providing a portable restroom on your job site, you can reduce employee downtime by providing a convenient alternative to your employees spending invaluable time searching for a restroom.

What are the rules for ADA restrooms?

Anne’s Cans offers portable wheelchair restrooms that are ADA compliant for use on your construction site or special event. ADA units are large enough and obtain the proper elements to meet the standards that have been outlined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The statute states that for single user portable toilets clustered at a single location, at least 5% but no less than one toilet unit shall be installed at each cluster whenever typical inaccessible units are provided. Accessible units shall also be identified by the International Symbol of Accessibility. The exception is that if portable restroom units are used exclusively by construction personnel who do not require the use of an ADA unit, you are not required to comply with this statute.

Where can my portable restroom be placed?

Anne’s Cans will place your units at your event or job site per your instruction. We will make every reasonable attempt to accommodate your desire for specific placement on the unit. However, we will relocate the unit and notify you if it becomes necessary, so that we may service the unit safely.

Portable restrooms can be placed virtually anywhere outdoors, as long as there is a sturdy, level surface. You should avoid any obstacles such as low-hanging tree branches or fences. Ideally, there should also be ample space for lines to form.

Read our blog article for tips and hints on where to place your units.

How often will my portable restroom be serviced?

The standard fee includes once-a-week service. We can provide service more frequently if required.

Keeping your portable restrooms clean and odor free begins with regular maintenance. This is especially true for long-term jobsite rentals or multi-day events where frequent usage is common.

Our service program is designed to ensure your units remain clean and odor-free. This service includes:

  • Evacuating waste
  • Charging the unit
  • Scrubbing the walls
